Join our workshop in portrait photography for media professionals and focus on your professional development with a free space from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You will have the opportunity to have an inspiring 3 days together with your colleagues and renewed energy for your daily work.
With this intensive workshop, we will enhance the quality of your portraits by providing you with a range of methods and tools to become more conscious in the work of portraying a human being and creating an impactful portrait.
Based on the personal portrait photography, you try to work with Helga Theilgaard's unique and effective methods of person instruction. We will delve into the psychological aspects of portrait photography and we will emphasize that you learn how you can apply the methods in a busy everyday life to create personal and present images.
In addition, you will work with some of the special challenges that portrait photography offers when it comes to light and its use, and you will learn how to finish and retouch the portrait and become aware of how to frame a specific style and expression in your finished image.

Who are you?
Take Strong Portraits is a workshop aimed at you who are a photographer, journalist, communicator, graphic artist, SoMe content producer or similar, who are often challenged by photographing portraits under time pressure. Our portrait photography workshop offers methods and tools for professional development in lighting, person instruction and image processing so that your portraits, despite limited time, take on a personal touch and stand out.
It is important that you need your portraits to your readers, customers and members to be as strong as possible and that you are curious to learn new things, are open to personal feedback and are passionate about going into the details of the whole process through three intensive days.
You bring your own camera, but otherwise we will provide the rest of the equipment during the workshop.
If you have lighting equipment of your own that you want to use, then of course you are welcome to bring it.

Forståelsen af lys er afgørende i arbejdet som fotograf, og det betyder alt, at man kan beherske og styre lyset, når man arbejder med portræt både på studie og særligt on-location.Teknisk arbejder vi med, hvordan du med enkle virkemidler og transportabelt lys kan lave en række belysningsteknikker, der på forskellig vis definerer og underbygger et menneskes karakter og udtryk, så du kan bruge lyset aktivt til at underbygge din fortælling.
Hvis et portræt skal være overbevisende og virkningsfuldt skal det have et dybere lag af nærhed og menneskelig genkendelighed. Redskabet er dig selv og din motivation og begrænsninger i mødet med den du portrætterer. Du lærer metoder til, hvordan man dirigerer et andet menneske ind i forskellige følelsesmæssige rum og tilstande, og hvordan din model kommer derhen, hvor udtrykket mærkes ægte og vedkommende
Det er vigtigt, at dit færdige portræt afspejler dit arbejde og den fortælling, du ønsker at formidle. Metoder til udvælgelsen af det bedste portræt er en essentiel del af denne proces, og lige så vigtigt som den efterfølgende billedbehandling og retouchering af portrættet. Vi gennemgår best practices og workflows, optimal RAW konvertering og kigger på, hvordan du takler typiske udfordringer såsom lav farvekontrast, hudtoner under høj iso og blandingslys, og de vil få demonstreret specielle teknikker til sort/hvid konvertering, retouch og efterkopiering af portrætter.
Alle deltagere får en personlig 1-1 session efter workshoppen, hvor du får mulighed for at få sparring på din videre proces med dit projekt og diskuterer de udfordringer og refleksioner, som er opstået på baggrund af workshoppen.
